Remember the famous award winning Amigatracker called OctaMED?
It has now been renamed MED Soundstudio for use on the Windows
(98/ME/2000/XP) platforms.
MED Soundstudio can be considered as a Stereo Tracker/MIDI
Sequencer and offers 16 bit + 64 tracks of audio with MIDI support,
Integrated wav editor, and a massive number of Real
time Effects, as of V1.6 it includes use of WinAmp _out plugins (inc WinAmp v3)
Other than a quality soundcard, MED requires no other additional
hardware,(although it can be used to control MIDI/sequencing)
Once you become familar with the myriad of features within MED you will
be suprised to learn just how flexible the program is.
You can select to save your music out as an MMD file for loading into
MED itself and for contacts who do not use MED, they can simply play
back your MED file via one of the many music players, such as WinAmp, or
you can save your music as a standalone self-executing file which only
requires the user to click on the saved executable file to hear your
music.
If you have a CD burner you can save as a .WAV file ready to burn
directly to a CD, and now, with the new plugin addition, you can either
select to save in the very popular MP3/OGG encoded formats.
Minimum Setup: W98 with 233-MHz and 128MB RAM is advised.
However, for media use, an Intel Pentium 4/Celeron family, AMD K6/Athlon/Duron
family, (or compatible processor), with 800-MHz (or better), 128MB RAM, (or higher),
running the Windows 2000 or XP is highly recommended.
